Delicious and awesome instructions on how to change the flavors throughout the meal. I love how they took something simple and made a journey out of it.

Best ramen noodles in Kyoto. There’s seaweed available to add to your soup. Add as much as you want! They even have a full pitch of water for each seat. The best part is you order through a vending machine. No annoying waitress.

It was my first time trying tsukemen and I really enjoyed them. They also gave us a paper with written instructions in English, very kind! Small but nice restaurant, fast service, easy to order with the interactive display.

Had an amazing tsukemen here! The broth wasn’t like the usual super-thick kind — it was lighter, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. The noodles had a great chew, and everything came together beautifully. Really delicious and refreshing take on tsukemen. Would definitely come back!

In the heart of Kyoto’s buzzing Kawaramachi, Mensho Takamatsu offers a moment of quiet craft in a city always moving. The signature tsukemen arrives like a still-life painting — golden broth rich with chicken and seafood umami, and noodles made from whole wheat flour ground in stone mills, smooth yet firm, with a whisper of soba in every bite. It’s refined, but never pretentious. Add a splash of sudachi, a dash of black shichimi, a spoonful of minced onion — and the flavors bloom like layers of Kyoto’s changing seasons. It’s a dish that evolves in the bowl, just as the city does outside its doors. With its warm wood interior and calm energy, Mensho Takamatsu KAWARAMACHI isn’t just a noodle shop — it’s where ramen meets ritual. A place where each bite slows time, and every flavor tells a story.
